You’ve chosen the most romantic place on earth for your destination wedding, and whether you opt for a formal affair in an opulent ballroom, a barefoot bash on a coral pink sand beach, or something in between, you’ve come to just the right place for wedding dreams come true!

The good news is that your Bermuda wedding can be as individual as the two of you, and your choices are endless when it comes to deciding on the perfect venue to fit your style. The not-so-good-news is that it may be difficult to make the choice! Miles of beaches, quaint British charm, and a moderate climate make Bermuda a wedding-friendly locale any time of year.

One of the many perks of having your wedding at the charming Fourways Inn in Paget, are the choices that await you! Choose from private and semi-private rooms to accommodate from two to 100 or take over the whole restaurant for up to 250 guests. According to Andreas Detzer, manager at the Fourways, “These rooms can be decorated your own way, but our rooms have so much charm the way they are, it really isn’t necessary!” Fourways prides itself on being a charming private home with none of the commercial feeling you might find elsewhere. “You are at home and we are your family for the day,” beams Mr. Detzer.

For an outdoor affair, Fourways offers the Rose Garden with a beautiful Pergola and traditional Bermuda Moon Gate, which brings a couple luck when they walk through it. The Palm Garden is a soft-colored, tented area with large sliding doors that allow you to be outdoors without concern for the weather. Fourways also goes the extra mile with their in-house wedding consultant and event planner, Mimi Belboda who doesn’t charge for her services, and is with you every s tep of the way.

Destination weddings can be planned around a get-away for you and your guests. Picture this four-day wedding celebration scenario at the Fairmont Southampton, located on the highest point in Bermuda: you arrive on Thursday to a welcome reception with cocktails, wine and cheese. On Friday night, you have your rehearsal dinner at one of the Fairmont’s eight restaurants, followed by a movie on the Great Sound Lawn with a dessert reception and popcorn, of course! The big day includes a cocktail reception and wedding dinner, all culminating in your wedding brunch on Sunday. According to expert wedding planner, Wendy Rukstalis, the Fairmont Southampton has a “… venue to suit every bride––from those who want to dip their feet in the ocean and walk in the sand to those who like a more classic setting in a garden to those who would enjoy a simple sunset view.” This full service, luxury resort has plenty to keep your guests busy––from the Fairmont Southampton Golf Course, to jet skiing, scuba diving, or simply lounging on the beach.

Are you the dreamy beach wedding type? Imagine saying ‘I do’ with a stunning view of the South Shore at Coco Reef’s Upper Beach overlooking their East and West beaches. This beautiful raised beach area is perfect for a ceremony where the sound of the surf and stretch of pink sand is your décor. If you would prefer grass to sand between your toes, consider their West Cliff Lawn where vows can be exchanged under exotic palm trees with a view of the ocean. Especially suited for dinners, BBQs and cocktail parties is Coco Reef’s Tamara’s Terrace. With its Spanish tile floor and white balustrades overlooking the spectacular South Shore, it has to be one of the Island’s best spots for dining and dancing. Coco Reef also offers High Point, a ‘D’ shaped sundeck adjacent to their pool area where you can take in the lovely hotel grounds and the ocean–– a “great spot to enjoy cocktails before dinner,” adds General Manager, Lyle Pauls. Looking for an intimate inside celebration? Try Café Coco, their Bermudez Room, or the Library.

Seven minutes from Hamilton, Bermuda’s charming capital, is Elbow Beach with more fabulous views of the South Shore. Elbow Beach, as a Mandarin Oriental managed property, offers you a range of possibilities––all with high levels of service excellence. Thinking about an indoor wedding with a Bermuda feel? The Lido Restaurant, with its private use nightclub, The Deep, is just the right choice, but then again, so is the beautiful Bermuda Room with its cozy fireplace. Located above beautiful Elbow Beach, the newly renovated Lido provides an innovative menu based around local seafood with Mediterranean touches. A wedding celebration at Elbow Beach will ensure a variety of culinary options as well, since there is also poolside dining at Blue Point, casual bistro style dining at Mickey’s Bistro, and sushi, tapas, and after dinner drinks at Sea Breeze.

Outdoors, enjoy the majestic views from the hotel’s Ocean Terrace, or say your I dos under a sky full of stars under a tent on the Marina lawn. Wedding planner Ginny Masters of Weddings with Panache, Elbow Beach Hotel’s preferred on-site wedding planning company, calls Elbow Beach “an upscale, elegant property with that wonderful twist of ‘I’m in Bermuda and right on the beach!’”

Elbow Beach has a number of wedding packages available that are all designed to take the complexity out of planning your nuptials. These packages are all inclusive of fees, gratuities, and include food and beverages. Ms. Masters tells all brides when they request a package that “all weddings are customized and tailored to what you want ––feel free to mix and match features, line-through, and add to, and we’ll re-price immediately.”

With all the pressure of planning a wedding, who wouldn’t want to consider an enthralling oceanfront hideaway where you can feel like the resort belongs entirely to you? At Rosewood Tucker’s Point you can expect luxury accommodations, exclusive venues on their 220 acres of pristine beachfront, and wonderful experiences. Imagine a candlelit rehearsal dinner in their private Wine Room. Envision a magical ceremony on their beautifully manicured Croquet Lawn with guests flowing into the Poolside Cabanas where you can dine al fresco in brightly colored cabanas, or under a pergola with a softly cushioned banquette. Picture your ceremony on the beach and then enjoy a spectacular vista of the Atlantic Ocean at the Horizon Pool or the Fountain Pool at the Beach Club, where fountains of water arch over the pool and Italian string lights illuminate the setting.

To accommodate more formal weddings of up to 270 people, the Camden Ballroom offers the utmost in privacy while their staff delivers personal attention. The Golf Club also offers a variety of options from the casual Grille Room & Bar to the grand Ballroom and Terrace with panoramic views of Castle Harbor. Rosewood Tucker’s Point truly sets a captivating stage for a Bermuda destination wedding.

Yet another romantic retreat, is The Reefs, with an intimate Bermuda atmosphere. Built over the rocks at the very tip of the property, Caso’s Point provides a breathtaking backdrop of sea and sky. Their two-tiered Deck at Caso’s Point is their most popular wedding location. You can also say “I do” with a ceremony on their secluded beach––wonderfully romantic! The Terrace is a lovely spot at the top of the cliff overlooking the Atlantic, with stunning views to complement your new marriage. The Reefs offers customized wedding packages and their talented pastry chef is happy to design the wedding cake of your dreams. They will also connect you with other local vendors that will make your day complete. Tucked away into the limestone cliffs, is Coconuts, a relaxed, open-air setting.

Roystons, with its fireplace and charming beamed ceiling offers a warm and inviting location to celebrate. Toast to the years ahead in the Wine Room surrounded by Bermuda stone and more than 1,200 bottles of wine tucked into mahogany. Wonderfully romantic and definitely unforgettable.

Rehearsal dinners, bachelor parties, and bachelorette festivities are something else to think about when tying the knot in Bermuda. You might want to try something a little different for these get-togethers, and Bermuda has some great spots!

Hidden away, but so worth finding, is Mad Hatter’s Restaurant, a real jewel in Hamilton. There is both indoor and outdoor courtyard seating and the food is remarkable. Mad Hatter’s is a fun atmosphere for a civilized rehearsal dinner and quite an entertaining spot for a pre-wedding bash with your wedding party. The restaurant is adorned with all kinds of crazy hats and guests actually wear them. You can watch the chefs prepare your dinner, and they too wear funny hats. Mad Hatter’s is the place to consider for intimate wedding gatherings with its imaginative food, excellent service, and enjoyable atmosphere!

Looking for a place to have a unique bachelor or bachelorette party? Café Cairo, the Egyptian-themed restaurant and bar in Hamilton is your spot. This out of the ordinary restaurant serves traditional Middle Eastern fare in an atmosphere that combines Moorish furnishings, inventive food, art, and music.

Choose to have your party in one of their three different areas––the tent, where you’ll feel like you’re in an oasis, the Casbah, where you can unwind and dine al fresco, or stop by for drinks in the lavishly decorated bar. Kick up your heels on the dance floor, or relax in the Hookah (water-pipe) lounge. After 10 p.m. Cafe Cairo gets a new life as a vibrant dance club…and you and your wedding party can celebrate until 3 a.m. If you want to spice up any venue in your own style, look to Especially For You Linen, where owner Sheena Smith will provide you with linens and other stylish necessities for your wedding and any parties and barbeques leading up to your big day.

Sheena says, “For destination weddings, people like tropical colors that remind them of Bermuda, like turquoise and coral and more of the vibrant colors that blend with ocean and sand.” If you already have a specific idea of what you want, Sheena recommends bringing in a swatch of fabric to make the process smoother. You can even have your florist come and try out flowers there! But if you’re open to ideas, Especially For You Linen will soon have a showroom available at their grand opening, so you can play around with the different fabric and colors until you find your perfect match. “People like to feel, touch and see what they are getting,” Sheena says. “ I wanted to have a location where all the tablecloths are hanging and people can have a full display. You can see your options on the table and in different lighting.”

Sheena advises that you set aside a minimum 2-3 weeks before the wedding to book your linens – the earlier you book it, the better chance for you to get what you want. Sheena also likes to give each wedding couple her undivided attention, so be sure to book your one-on-one appointment with her!

Choosing the right wedding venue is probably one of the most important decisions any bride and groom will make. The perfect venue sets the theme of your wedding and ultimately brings together the entire day. When it comes to romantic wedding locations, there is no place better than Bermuda, so you’re already on the right track. Wherever you decide to begin your life together, it’s sure to be unforgettably romantic in magical Bermuda.

These wedding sites are portrayed by size, from small and intimate to expansive and all-inclusive. Each facility claims a spectacular venue, which, being Bermuda, is legitimate. As for cuisine, exquisite dietary delights abound, whether fresh Bermuda fish or a cultural specialty. Chefs eagerly embrace the opportunity to create a unique dish or specific menu for your wedding.

The first five restaurant/resorts are small, catering to a guest list of fifty or fewer. The intimate nature of a small wedding is evident in these sites, with personal attention, a cozy atmosphere, and an intimate setting. If your wedding plans target a smaller gathering, these venues meet your needs.

64º

The new restaurant located in the Club of the Port Royal Golf Course is an oasis of tranquility, coupled with unique Bermudan hospitality, has been specifically designed with you in mind – to create the perfect end to a perfect day. Top chef Troy Smith is at the helm ready to create unforgettable culinary experiences that will be second to none. With succulent grilled steaks, fresh seafood and local home grown produce, the new 64º menu is set to impress. The floor to ceiling temperature-controlled cellar will showcase the world’s best wine, beer and spirits. Our open plan contemporary bar has taken the South Shore view to another level by incorporating dining inside as well on the patio terrace.

In addition, the clubhouse boasts restful lounge area and splendid rooms for private functions.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room is located adjacent to the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. It is owned and managed by Odilio and Natalie Angeli; who also own Ristorante Primavera and the Rustico Restaurant. The Dining Room is located where the Lighthouse Tea Room used to be.

Owner Natalie Angeli, explains a few features of this unique Bermuda restaurant. For a typical wedding, The Dining Room can accommodate 40 people inside, and a hundred outside. For the latter, the “ceremony would normally be outdoors, tented if required.” Regarding dietary specialties, Ms. Angeli notes, “We have a varied menu with cuisines from many countries, but our fresh local fish is excellent.” She considers The Dining Room to
be unique because, “We have arguably the best view in Bermuda, being at the highest point in the island. Apart from that, it would be our attention to detail and service.”

Pompano Beach Club

“The family owned and operated, 75 room Pompano Beach Club is an ideal venue for honeymooners due to its intimate atmosphere and dramatic oceanfront setting on Bermuda’s southwest coast,” according to the resort’s Managing Director, Tom Lamb.

“Pompano often hosts small destination weddings during the September through April time period.”

The resort offers wedding groups a high degree of personalized service, extensive recreational facilities, gourmet cuisine and comfortable ocean view accommodations. Pompano does not have published wedding packages, preferring to give custom pricing to brides and grooms based on the needs and requirements of each bridal couple Mr. Lamb adds, “Pompano has been Trip Advisor’s # 1 ranked Bermuda resort for five consecutive years
and prides itself on its hospitality, facilities and service. Many of their guests return to stay year after year.”

The website for 9 Beaches proclaims it as, “the unexpected Bermuda. You’re in for a first-class vacation experience, but it’s not fancy. Don’t even think about bringing a tie. But flip-flops are required.” 9 Beaches boasts water sports from kayaking to snorkeling and of course nine beaches, “even at high tide!”

“In terms of numbers at a wedding”, says Robin Gilbert, the General Manager, “we can take care of seventy-five people comfortably.” He continues, “With a wedding we have to keep an eye on the weather. We have a large permanent tent, which is fine for inclement weather. As for our menu offerings at a wedding we have to be aware of the likes and dislikes of the many invited guests. Generally the bride and groom prefer to offer
a buffet and we have many selections to choose from. We are always most happy to discuss other menu requests.” Of the ambiance at 9 Beaches, he says, “Our atmosphere is very casual for a very adventurous crowd. We’re not a five-star resort. Smart casual dress is fine, even bare feet!”

“Have a look at the website”, he says, “and see from the photos how wonderful the location is. Lots of information about weddings is on the website as well”.

Cambridge Beaches

Cambridge Beaches is a private, casual timeless retreat in a natural setting, featuring 94 individually decorated cottages, guest rooms and suites, including three luxury private pool suites and beaches on a private peninsula.

Michelle Forszt, Director of Sales and Marketing, discussed the virtues of Cambridge Beaches. “It specializes in small and intimate events and offers weddings with up to 50 guests.”

Cambridge Beaches offers dining service options both inside and out, in their Sky Deck, Mangrove Bay Room and Aquarian Baths Pool Deck. Mrs. Forszt notes, “Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa is not a typical large high rise resort; it is a timeless sanctuary of luxurious cottage accommodations, sparkling azure seas, endless views and beautiful beaches.” (It does not cater to children under sixteen.)

Fresco’s Group Catering – Restaurant and Wine Bar

Fresco’s Group Catering has three sites on Bermuda for fine dining. Their website claims, “We can host events in any of our locations or go off site to your favorite location. We cater wedding receptions.” Fresco’s encourage brides to “visit our website to view our fabulous dishes.”

Fresco’s Claudio Vigilante describes the cuisine: “our fusion style menu (featuring Mediterranean cuisine tempered with a twist of Bermuda), prepared by our gold medal winning chef. Enjoy your meal on our outdoor patio or in the intimacy of our dining room.” He goes on, “We can do 50 at an indoor wedding. The cuisine is Italian, with fresh, home-made pasta and fresh Bermuda fish.” He describes the charm of Fresco’s is in the setting:
“We are in the old wine cellar that has bolted ceiling and old wine artifacts on the wall.”

Opus defines itself as a ‘chic urban retreat’ where one may savor the finest European coffees, international teas or sample an extensive wine list in an atmosphere suitable for both a cafe and lounge environment, complete with a tapas menu and a walk-in wine cellar. Open daily from early morn to very late evening. It is the perfect place to celebrate with a bottle of champagne or signature drink. Opus is affiliated with Fresco’s Group of Restaurants and can cater your special event or house small gatherings.

Silk offers a blend of dietary delights from Bangkok Thailand, one of the more popular ethnic cuisines infiltrating the taste buds of connoisseurs of fine dining across North America. In Bermuda, Silk is the premier Thai restaurant, serving lunch and dinner through the week. Silk is affiliated with Fresco’s Group of Restaurants and is a perfect setting for rehearsal dinners.

For a mid-size wedding, four resorts, which easily accommodate a wedding guest list in the range of a hundred. These sites are personable, in that the staff develops a friendly relationship with guests, but the space is more roomy and pleasant for a mid-size crowd.

The Reefs

The Reefs, with one of the more exquisite of Bermuda beaches, has the “sole purpose to pamper its guests and put them perfectly at ease.” Their website promotes this small, luxury hotel as “the perfect place to relax and enjoy a romantic escape, or even to get married! Weddings and honeymoons are a favorite reason for staying at The Reefs.”

David Dodwell, Jr., Director of Rooms at The Reefs, discusses weddings. “For weddings, we can accommodate anywhere from an intimate ceremony for two or all the way up to 80. Your reception can either be inside or outside, although everybody wants to be outside overlooking our beautiful beach!”

“Dietary delights are superb,” he says. “We have a wide variety of food from Caribbean to traditional western cuisine in our three different restaurants.” Mr. Dodwell believes what sets The Reefs apart is the “high level of customer service, our gorgeous private beach, and the personal connection that our guests create with the property and staff. Guests really get to know the staff intimately and we have been a family run property for over
thirty years.”

Surf Side Beach Club Hotel

Surf Side is “a unique hideaway and peaceful haven overlooking the ocean on Bermuda’s famous South Shore. While guests can enjoy the personalized service they expect of a boutique hotel, they can also experience the amenities of a larger hotel, including restaurant and bar, beauty salon and mini-spa.”

General Manager Bryony Harvey goes on to explain that the Surf Side can accommodate up to a hundred guests for a wedding. That’s the “absolute maximum!” Generally Surf Side encourages an outdoor setting for the wedding ceremony.

The atmosphere is “casual and low key,” according to Bryony, and the dining room focus is primarily on “European cuisine.” As for specific sites for wedding, Bryony recommends, the “location of the wedding ceremony on our lower terrace close to the water and beach and our personalized service for wedding coordination throughout – one stop shopping!” Surf Side sounds superb: romantic and intimate, a perfect wedding site.

Aqua is located at the Surf Side Beach Club. This restaurant has arguably the finest view in Bermuda from its sunset cliffside terrace. When paired with divine cuisine and superior service, Aqua is a restaurant without par. One reviewer noted it had the most scenic sight in Bermuda, served excellent food and offered perfect service. The Aqua website refers to itself as “definitely good for romantic dinners.” A typical meal might begin with Bermuda fish chowder, with sherry, peppers and black rum. For a main course try black linguini with scallops, shrimp, clams and mussels, served in a light white wine. This restaurant is a diner’s delight.

Coco Reef Resort

Maleia Marsden is General Manager of Coco Reef Resort. For weddings, Coco Reef caters to small events, really small, like two people (!) up to a maximum of 120. “The majority of the time,” she says, “we only have one event at a time going on in the Resort, so the Bride & Groom get our full dedication ensuring them a spectacular day.” Coco Reef wants to ensure an ideal dining experience for their bridal couple. “Our Executive Chef is very
flexible and specializes in American / European Cuisines but has also done weddings with specialty foods such as Indian, Bermudian and even a full Vegan event.” Meals may be served inside, or “al fresco on Tamara’s Terrace which features panoramic ocean views over the swimming pool.”

What sets Coco Reef apart is, “because we offer a more intimate experience than the bigger Resorts. Our staff get to know each guest on a one to one basis and look after them like family. It is also easy to move about our Resort, for example, you do not have to take a shuttle bus to the beach, it is only a short walk down the hill. We are not a convention The website of Coco Reef expounds on the area: “Bermuda is an island of great intrigue and incredible beauty. Coco Reef Resort is set in beautiful tropical gardens with an unrivaled vista overlooking our exquisite beach and Bermuda’s famed turquoise water. It provides the ultimate Atlantic vacation in a casually elegant setting.”

With a larger wedding, more than 150 guests, three sites cater to a good-sized crowd. These resorts know how to manage a banquet hall, understand the logistics of crowd management, and pride themselves on meeting the wishes of the bride and groom in a grand setting, whether on the beach or in an expansive reception center.

Fourways

MiMi Belboda, Group Sales Manger of Fourways Inn, responded to our inquiry about weddings. “We can accommodate 245 people if we do set menu and 200 people if we do buffet.” She adds, “We are known for our French cuisine.” Ms. Belboda notes their Palm Garden area is protected from the weather and ideal for wedding ceremonies, while “our Rose Garden (is) outside for weddings.”

What sets Fourways apart, according to Ms. Belboda, “I would say the food, service and ambiance. We have a beautiful garden setting for a destination wedding, but most of our weddings are local.” Readers’ comments note Fourways is known for a peaceful, quiet atmosphere with an attentive staff. It is both charming and quaint, with a dose of historic charm, as the main inn was constructed in 1727.

Lido Restaurant

The Lido Restaurant is situated on the Sea Terrace of the Elbow Beach Hotel in Paget, located right above the beach and offering breathtaking views and sophisticated oceanfront dining with modern ambiance. The site boasts, “indoor and outdoor venues for all occasions, and the menus have an innovative mix of seafood specialties with Mediterranean touches. The restaurant is a popular, smart, casual choice for an evening of impeccable service, a superb wine list and stunning ocean views.” The restaurant is part of a larger complex of three operations under one umbrella, the others being a tapas and sushi lounge and an “on the sand” bistro style restaurant – Mickey’s, as well as an oceanfront private function terrace. Lido Complex is part of the larger Little Venice Group, which operates a number of Bermuda’s finest dining establishments.

Fairmont Southampton

“Fairmont is a leader in the global hospitality industry,” according to their website, “with a distinctive collection and a worldwide reputation for excellence.” As part of a large chain of hotels, “central purchasing ensures the same high-quality amenities are available to all guests wherever they visit.” The website concludes that “every Fairmont hotel an extraordinary place, and your stay, an extraordinary experience.”

Peter Frith, Director of Sales at the Fairmont Southampton, assists with wedding planning. “We have the ability to accommodate up to 800 people and to prepare gala events. We have many options for weddings of various sizes, but our average wedding is 100 – 125 people. We can have a wedding indoors or outdoors but about 85% of our clients request the beach. We can do the wedding right on the sand and with a purpose-built terrace, a concrete platform with lights, for the reception.” He goes on, “We are known for our wide variety of food and we pride ourselves in customizing whatever the bride and groom want.

We have over fifteen countries represented in our culinary staff. Our most popular comment is how fabulous the food is with such a superb international culinary team.”

The variety of venues makes it a challenge to choose the right site for a destination wedding in Bermuda. Each resort or restaurant has a special claim to fame, and is worthy in its own right. Word of mouth is helpful, but so is an examination of each venue to ensure their capability to provide just what you want and need to make your wedding special. We feel comfortable recommending any one of these resorts or restaurants for their services. A wedding is a unique opportunity to select the best of the best to make your day memorable in every way. These sites are ready to respond to your request.

Thoughts of planning a wedding large or small can be daunting for any bride and her family. Decisions about a theme, flowers, invitations, and ceremony details can overwhelm even the most organized bride. With wedding budgets soaring, and time constraints often limiting marriage plans, today’s bride is searching for a great solution to her dilemma. Bermuda offers the ideal “wedding moon” celebration, which will fulfill both marriage and honeymoon fantasies as a perfect destination for lovers. Often with one telephone call, Bermuda property managers or their wedding planner will assist the bride and her family with everything they need for a romantic and elegant wedding on the island.

Most wedding guides suggest that forty percent of the wedding budget should be spent on the reception, where the couple and their guests enjoy the better part of the day’s celebration. Therefore, planning the location of the reception venue is one of the most important details of the wedding event.

With five different locations within the property’s boundaries, The Fairmont Southampton is second to none. Offering a secluded beach spot for a small wedding of thirty-five on the cabana terrace, to an elaborate affair for 300 on the beach terrace, the Fairmont hopes to provide for every bride’s desires. “The best spot to see the sunset is at the Historic Waterlot Inn restaurant,” says Director of sales, Peter Frith.

The Fairmont Southampton offers a golf course, Willow Stream Spa, beauty salon, Jet Ski and deep-sea fishing, along with six on-site restaurants. Frith describes the property as “luxury with tropical elegance” and boasts of his Swiss pastry chef Rolf Runkel.

Tom Lamb, Managing Director of the Pompano Beach Club in Southampton has been assisting brides for twenty years on the southwest coast of the island. “We are family-owned and offer the best in service, hospitality, cuisine, and our location is spectacular,” says Lamb. The club is situated next to the Port Royal Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, ranked one of the top courses in the nation. Besides appealing to many grooms, “the scenic nature of the property with grassy knolls” is a hit with most brides. The Pompano Beach club is close to the ferry and offers water sports and a spa.

Located in Devonshire, also on the South shore of the island is the Aqua Restaurant. Claudio Vigilante, owner, hosts fifty to seventy weddings yearly in his seaside restaurant on the property of Ariel Sands. “Everything is coordinated
onsite, from flowers and decorations to the setup,” says Vigilante. Their onsite wedding coordinator works with clients to determine their wishes.

At the Aqua Seaside Restaurant, sixty people can be accommodated on a covered balcony, with a restaurant that overlooks the ocean. Joel Watson, chef, prepares dishes to complement the wedding theme, and has been featured on The Food Network. Nearby, the Palm Grove Garden, owned by Sir David Gibbons, is an ideal location for memorable wedding photographs.

Bryony Harvey, wedding coordinator, at the Surf Side Beach Club offers a “relaxed atmosphere, greenery and certainly the ocean.” Wedding packages are available that can include photography, clergy, and even the marriage license. “Other services offered by the club are: welcome gifts for guests, flowers, music, and even transportation around the island,” says Harvey.

A stunning blue ocean, surrounded by palm trees, leading to a space with sheer organza drapes and white wicker chairs, is the setting at the Coco Reef Resort in Paget Parish. A favorite among brides, with a one-year in advance booking recommendation, this facility offers a “small, comfortable, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere,” says Janet Inniss, manager. With great personal service and a walk to the beach, the décor of the Coco Reef Resort blends antique, Modern, and Spanish styles.

The on-site wedding coordinator, Tydee Douglas, can arrange fine dining, music, the wedding cake, and even salon services. “Brides often choose the ocean as their background for the ceremony at the Upper Beach, with a stunning view of the South Shore,” says Inniss. With a beautiful indoor setting and lobby, wedding guests could be easily moved indoors for rainy days.

Sapori Caribbean restaurant is located on a long and winding road in Paget. With reservations recommended at least one month in advance, Sharon Mallory, owner, provides complete service for wedding parties. “Wedding guests may choose to sit on the terrace, view the city, while being close to the beach, with an ocean view,” says Sharon. Although Sapori may offer the feeling of a county setting, it is conveniently located only five minutes from the city of Paget. Wedding photographers often choose the poolside and terrace location for splendid photos of the bridal couple.

Mimi Belboda, wedding coordinator for thirty years, will take care of “all the little details to make your perfect day right,” says manager Alex Rech. Built in 1727, this elegant venue offers something very unique to the island. Surrounding the property are beautiful gardens, palm and Cedar trees perfect for wedding portraits, as well as “quiet secluded rooms” for those who desire a bit more privacy.
Some brides are searching for something very different for their wedding event, and the Lido Complex offers an outdoor gazebo that will seat up to eighty guests. Located beachfront, this facility provides “quality of both food and service for wedding guests,” says Ennio Lucarini. In addition, the property features the Saint Georges Room, decorated in a Mediterranean theme.

“Every bride is special, and we provide custom service for each wedding party,” says Ennio. The Lido Complex will host the wedding celebration, the reception, or even the rehearsal dinner.

With these outstanding choices, every bridal couple should consider their “wedding moon” on the island of Bermuda. Their guests will thank them, and the memories will be unforgettable.
